Celebrating 50 Years of Blue Triangle

For 50 years, Blue Triangle has been a lifeline for people facing homelessness. What started in 1975 as a small hostel for young single women in Glasgow has grown into 26 services across 10 local authorities, supporting over 400 people across Scotland every day.

From our roots within the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) to becoming an independent charity in 1991, we’ve never stopped evolving to meet the needs of our communities.

Today, our trauma-informed staff work tirelessly to provide safe spaces, round-the-clock support, and create opportunities for our supported people to thrive. With services ranging from supported accommodation for adults, young people and families, to recovery housing and outreach support, we’re proud to stand beside those who need us most.

In 2025 and beyond, we’re growing into new communities and reaching more people who need our help. At the same time, we’re breaking down stigma and challenging discrimination, ensuring everyone gets the support they deserve. The housing emergency and cost of living crisis make our work more vital than ever, and we won’t stop.
