Blue Triangle branches into tenth local authority

Social care organisation Blue Triangle will be operating Garry Place supported accommodation service for young people in Falkirk, following successful tender. Blue Triangle staff will provide support for nine young people in the service. This is the first service in Falkirk that Blue Triangle will operate, marking the tenth local authority that the social care organisation works in.

Blue Triangle was founded in 1975, empowering people to thrive by providing trauma-informed support in accommodation services and in communities across Scotland. Over 50% of people entering Blue Triangle services move onto their own tenancy, helping to break the homelessness cycle.

Lesley Munro, Head of Service Delivery, said:

“We were delighted to win the tender for Garry Place, and we look forward to working with the young people, helping them to reach their full potential. Our excellent staff will be on hand 24/7 to support and to offer a flexible, person-centred service that meets the needs of the people we support. Blue Triangle is committed to providing a safe, sensitive and non-judgemental service.

Blue Triangle staff will encourage choice and independence, helping the people we support move onto their own tenancy and positive outcomes.”

This year, 155 young people aged 16 – 25 years old entered Blue Triangle services. This was 33% of total admissions in 2023. Blue Triangle has scored highly in recent Care Inspections, with Young People’s services Bruce Court in Paisley and Viewpark in Uddingston scoring 5’s (Very Good) across all categories.

Feedback from the Care Inspection reports included:

“This accommodation is amazing. The staff are brilliant, you feel welcome and there is nothing bad I can say about this place.”

“Staff are always there to help me when I ask and I want help.”
